Happy Birthday to Jenni
So it's Wednesday night, tomorrow AJ, Abigail and I jump on a plane and zoom on over to England for a few days, mostly to celebrate the 50th birthday of our dear friend Jenni Sandford. It should be quite the birthday bash with friends jetting in from all over the place and it's also our first opportunity to see her new house. Jenni used to live about 20 minutes away from London Heathrow so her house was the usual house we'd crash at when flying into the UK. She's since moved to Bath which is a little out of the way from LHR.
After the weekend in England we are off to Iceland for a four day conference that we are so flipping excited about. Jeremy and Connie have just got back (well a month or so ago) from Iceland and they had an incredible time, and that fused with the fun we had in Alabama, we just can't wait to see what God's got in store for Iceland.
In slightly less exciting news I'm loving Leopard. It's not like a massive jump forward from Tiger but it's like having a bunch of really nice additions rolled into what was already a really nice operating system. My favourite addition at the moment is Screen Sharing and Back to my Mac. Sitting here in my hotel room, I can auto-magically connect back to my mac at home... I can browse its file systems, copy files over to my laptop (for example 12 iTunes tracks I forgot to copy to my laptop before leaving) and can even log in and remotely control it as if I was sitting next to it. It's very cool being able to access my files from anywhere!
Screen sharing is also nice because if Gary or John or Carol were to have a problem with their Mac they can just log onto iChat, find me and click "Share my Screen" and voila, I have control of their Mac. No looking up IP addresses, no firewalls, no routers to configure. Just nice and mac like.
