Poor Little Chicken

Well yesterday?s mileage run went without event.  It was funny turning up at the airport with nothing to check, not even any carry on luggage.  I just sat in the lounge reading Saturday?s papers and then boarded.  I had about 20 minutes in Edinburgh airport before I got back on the plane and flew home.  Seat 9A on both flights (tons of leg room thanks to the exit row).  I just soaked/slept most of the way up and down.

When I got home everyone was eating some Ethiopian food which we wolfed down and then we all went out to a firework?s display put on by the Mayor of Hammersmith & Fullum.  It was quite impressive but it took a long time to get going.

Last night poor AJ was up through the night throwing up.  I don?t think the Ethiopian food along with the Sushi she ate at lunchtime agreed with her.  As a result, neither of us got that much sleep last night so I am glad we are having a lazy day today where we can sleep and slob.  We fly back tomorrow so I want to make sure we are well rested (and not throwing up!).  The poor little chicken is downstairs in bed with a temperature.  I am trying to do my best impersonation of my mother by feeding her some soup and making sure she drinks lots of fluids.

Any other hints from people more experienced with caring for the sick?

Poor lamby, make sure the bug is out of her system before giving her soup etc as that will just fuel the creepy. A flat sugary drink like a flat Lucozade or Sprite will replace her electrolytes but she should sip it not drink too much. I always hold off taking any anti diarrhoea pills as you want to make sure the bug is out, and not bung her up with it still lurking. This (as a person who has thrown up in many different nations of the world) is my advice! Your sweet attitude will be her main restorative though! Love to you both.
